Scints -- Scales in Intervals

This is a series of exercises exploring all the diatonic and chromatic intervals on the major scale. First, all the diatonic intervalse: 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, 7ths. Then all the contant intervals: major 3rds, minor 3rds, etc. The constant intervals sound pretty weird and you might wonder why you'd want to practice them (other than for finger exercise). When you are playing over changes, you will run into these intervals. For example, if you are in C major, and encounter a Cmin7 chord (as in "Green Dolphin Street", for example), the third interval from the C is a minor third, not a major third, and the third interval from the G is a minor third. Eventually, I'll publish all scales in all intervals, in all positions. Maybe.

Another type of scale0-interval practice involves playing sequences through the scale. Here are some examples of that.

(You'll need Adobe PDF viewer for the notated examples.)
