Here's That Rainy Day - comping with 3-note voicings
When comping with a bass player, it's often best to stay off the bottom two strings, to keep the texture from getting too thick and dark.
This exercise uses strings 2, 3, and 4. The voincings, for the most part, are made up of the 3rd and 7th of the chord, and another chord tone or tension. These voicings can be played with the pick, the fingers, or pick-and-fingers.
