Blue Bossa -- Arpeggios and Scales

Students often wonder whether arpeggios or scales are better preparation for improvisation.
I always say, "Nothing less than everything will do."



This pair of exercises combines arpeggios and scales. The first exercise just walks through 
the arpeggios for the song. The second exercise uses the same arpeggios, but fills in with notes
from the chord-scales.



Practice at a slow tempo and gradually work up.
